Job Summary
- The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machinery in our Maize Milling operations.
- This role requires expertise in maize/flour milling processes to guarantee the efficient and reliable operation of our production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment in the Maize mill.
- Ensure machines operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize milling processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to mill operators and maintenance staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering within the milling industry, preferably in maize/flour milling.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and machines used in maize mills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skill
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
