Job Summary
- The Legal Officer at Dangote Cement Transport will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support throughout the organization’s operations.
- This role involves analyzing legal documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and representing the company in all legal matters, specifically related to transportation and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and legal agreements to protect the interests of Dangote Cement Transport.
- Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance, risk management, and company policies pertaining to transportation and logistics operations.
- Liaise with external legal counsel as necessary to manage cases and legal disputes effectively.
- Monitor changes in transportation law and regulations and inform management of any significant developments.
- Assist in the resolution of legal issues arising from operations, including dispute resolution and claims management.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support operations and strategic business decisions.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings and motions, as required.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on legal matters, ensuring a proper understanding of legal implications in day-to-day business.
- Maintain records of legal documents and ensure compliance with corporate governance policies.
Educational Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution.
- Must possess a Nigerian Bar Association membership (BL).
Experience:
- 3 – 5 years of legal practice experience, particularly in the logistics or transportation sector.
- Experience working within a corporate legal department or a relevant law firm.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of transport and logistics law.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
