  • The Boiler Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the boilers and related equipment in the sugar refinery to ensure efficient production processes.
  • This role requires knowledge of boiler operation, safety regulations, and maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor boiler systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain proper water levels, pressure, and temperature in the boilers.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on boiler equipment to prevent malfunctions.
  • Control the firing of the boiler, ensuring that fuel is used efficiently.
  • Respond to alarms and indications of potential operational issues; take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain records of operating parameters, maintenance, and issues encountered during operations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and environmental regulations related to boiler operations.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating boilers in an industrial environment, preferably within the food or sugar industry.
  • Knowledge of boiler systems, safety practices, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
  • Basic computer skills for record keeping and reporting.
